Welcome to Pennsylvania, Mr. McT…Sorry About the Blizzard

Richard Armitage isn’t the only Hobbit cast member to score a new role and head to North America for filming recently. Graham McTavish is currently in Philadelphia to shoot Creed, the zillionth installment of the Rocky franchise. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that he’s in my state, eating cheese steaks and drinking Yuengling and waiting for  it to stop snowing like the rest of us. Where I’m sitting, in the Allegheny Mountains, there’s about tenish inches on the ground right now but down east they’re getting hammered. NBC in Philadelphia is predicting an accumulation of a foot today and tomorrow in Southeastern PA and New York City and New Jersey are expected to get fourteen to twenty inches in some places. I really feel for Mr. McT since he came from summer in the southern hemisphere to this. Sorry, dude. Stay safe and stay warm and have a great stay. If you need to go anywhere, might I suggest PA Cross Country Skiing?

Wow, I’m only 5 1/2 hours away from Philadelphia by car. I just looked it up – I would have thought it was farther.

Let’s see RA in Toronto 3 1/2 hours by car or McT in Philly 5 1/2 hours. Add in that we currently have way less snow up north. Sorry Graham I’m afraid Ra wins this one for me 😉

Poor guy. I am sending him very warming thoughts. I hope he knows how to drive on it.

Been lightly snowing on and off all day here today, with about 2-3″ on the ground. More due overnight, but not as much as Philly and up the I-95 corridor. We’re on the fringe of the storm path.

Mr. McT’s got a good sense of humor about the snow …

Well, he’s got a good sense of humor about most stuff. 🙂

I’ve driven in Pittsburgh in the summer. In a pick-up truck. (Make of that what you will.) It’s not as bad as Cleveland. 😉

You weren’t near the earthquake yesterday, were you? I thought of you when I saw that, though it was only 2.7. A tremor, I guess. 🙂

Thanks for asking. 🙂 Although it wasn’t all that far away from here, we didn’t feel anything. Not like the one a few years back (2011), that was 5.9. Scary. There are much better ways to feel the earth move. 😉
